At the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity of interning at the Belgian Permanent Representation to the UN in New York for a couple of months.
As an intern, I followed up the work of Belgium in UN organs such as the Security Council, ECOSOC and the General Assembly. I also followed up on Security Council reform, General Assembly revitalization and disarmament. Furthermore, I worked on human rights dossiers, such as the Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities and children in armed conflict.
As a Master of Laws graduate who specialised in International and European Law, this internship helped me to see the other side of the laws I have spent the last years immersing myself in.
